The contest for the Segway Human Transporter, which sells for $4,950, is open to anyone. People who buy services from C I Host receive one entry for every service they buy. The Segway Human Transporter will be awarded October 1, 2003.
The SegwayTM Human Transporter (HT) is a self-balancing, personal transportation device designed to operate in any pedestrian environment. The person using the HT just holds onto the handlebars and stands on a platform that automatically adjusts to their forward or backward movement through a series of solid-state gyroscopes, tilt sensors, high-speed microprocessors, and powerful electric motors. The two large-sized wheels are on either side of the person, rather than the front and back as in a conventional scooter.
