We Interview Globat and Discuss Web Hosting

- How does Globat thrive in such a competitive business as web hosting?

First off, everyone here at Globat.com is a professional and they take their positions and their duties to our customers very seriously. We understand that there are many web hosting providers in the market to choose from. At Globat.com we try to differentiate ourselves from our competitors through the quality of service we provide to our customers.

Many of the larger competitors rely upon marketing tactics that are akin to buying customers and yet we see that these same companies are having huge problems with customer turnover. Our marketing efforts are much more straightforward; provide a great low cost solution and the customers will find you. In a survey we conducted recently, over 87% of our customers indicated that they have referred other clients to Globat.com.

In a competitive industry we feel that providing a terrific service and satisfying our clients is a great way to stay ahead of the competition.

- As the CEO of a successful Internet company, What is the one thing that makes you jump out of bed in the morning?

That’s an easy one, helping businesses and people succeed online – hands down! I first began my career in the IT industry in 1994 and since that time I have been awed and inspired by the growth and vast improvements to the Internet. I spend a great deal of time searching for new value-add opportunities which we can bring to our customers. Globat.com already has the largest and most feature rich web hosting package in the affordable hosting market, and yet every day I look forward to come to work to find that next feature or service to add to our package which will continue to set us apart from our competition and make our customers ask “How can you do this”.

- On the other hand, what is the one thing that keeps you up at night?

Nighttime is usually the time when I scan the news and forums keeping an eye on the market and looking for those important new services we can offer to our customers.

- Your latest offering of 5Gb for $4.95 is very impressive. How have sales been since you announced this plan?

So far reaction to our new offer has been strong and very positive – which was not unexpected since it’s the best hosting package at the lowest price available out there. Since we launched the new offer, we have been receiving more referrals and more repeat customer signups. Testimonials from new and existing customers have been very uplifting and confirm that increasing the package for our members was the right decision.

- What do you see as the largest growth areas in web hosting and how is Globat positioning itself to take advantage of them?

We feel that one of the greatest areas for expansion is through enabling the niche webmasters and web developers to generate an income from web hosting. By supporting this IT community we believe that we can generate revenue growth for Globat.com while fostering a terrific income stream for these IT pros. We are deep in the development process of constructing a first rate Reseller Hosting Program. We expect the launch of this program toward the beginning of Q2 2005 and so far we are very excited about the features and capabilities we have already implemented.

- What one quality about Globat helps it distinguish itself from its competitors?

Our customers always come first! We have never been a company which has focused on new customer acquisition rather than client services. Watching the attrition rates of some of these fast growing web hosts and understanding the financial stress that places on the organization, we are very grateful that we have chosen the path of moderate growth and a high renewal rate.

- Your hosting plans are focused on the unix shared hosting market; Do you have plans to enter the Windows hosting industry?

We have considered venturing out into other segments of the hosting industry. We have witnessed other providers who have rushed out to meet the demands of customers in the windows hosting market and we have seen and heard of the incredible strain these decisions have placed on those providers. Our core competency has always been our unix hosting service and for now we are more comfortable referring members, who come to us looking for windows service, to a strong windows provider.

- What about other areas such as Reseller web hosting?

Our reseller system will be an important part of our growth and our market position in 2005. We expect to launch our reseller service in Q2 2005 and with the expert direction of our staff we know we will deliver the strongest program yet available anywhere on the internet.

- How do you think problems like spyware, viruses, and SPAM will effect the growth of the internet and web hosting over the next couple of years?

Obviously one of our greatest concerns for the internet in general is the proliferation of cyber malcontents and their destructive tendencies. I do not believe however that these individuals can ultimately discourage the spirit of the Internet community nor do I think that they will lead to a decline in the web hosting industry. As we strengthen our law enforcement procedures related to online felonies, I believe we will be able to reduce the number of these incidents.
