Bandwidth is a measure of how much traffic is visiting your website. It includes visitors to your website, incoming and outgoing email messages, and FTP traffic. It’s typically measures in GigaBytes (GB), where 1 GB = 1,024 MB. Many people commonly refer to ” data transfer” as “bandwidth”. By definition, bandwidth is a measure of the “size of the pipe”, whereas data transfer is a measure of the “information going through the pipe”. How much disk space will I need?

The answer will depend on the type of web site you want to have. Each file such as images and documents and page of your web site will use space on the servers’ hard disk. A web page that uses a lot of images or graphics will use more space than a web page that has only text.  This is usually not a huge concern for most customers as the cost of hard disk space has come down tremendously over the years so the web hosting companies usually offer much more than what is needed and most will offer unlimited space.
